Innovative Portable Vaporizer Features Small Size
The new MIQRO has many of the innovative features that were developed by DaVinci for the IQ which is fantastic because the IQ was one of my favorite vaporizers because if its revolutionary features and quality build materials. The size and weight have greatly been reduced to the point that the MIQRO is the first truly discreet functional vaporizer on the market. This little bad boy fits right in the palm of your hand and can easily be cupped so that it can’t be seen.
If you loved the IQ as I did then you’ll be excited that the MIQRO uses a similar LED interface to inform you of what the vaporizer is currently doing. The vapor path is completely made from ceramic zirconium which won’t leach chemicals and bad tasted into your cannabis. The DaVinci MIQRO also uses Davinci’s patented “Smart Path” technology to control the temperature of the vape sessions. One thing missing from the MIQRO is the famous “favor chamber” which increased the favor of your cannabis but there just isn’t any room in this tiny vaporizer to hold it.
The MIQRO like the IQ can only vape dry cannabis which is a disappointment, it would be fantastic to be able to use shatter or wax with the unit.
A new feature of the MIQRO is the ability to adjust the oven capacity. Using an adjustable “pearl” located at the top of the oven you can increase or decrease the oven size by as much as 50% which makes it easy to microdose. I personally found the oven chamber on the small side and could only fit one session into the bowl at a time.

The MIQRO’s Design
When holding the DaVinci MIQRO for the first time you are going to notice two things right away. You’ll notice how small the MIQRO is compared to the older IQ with a third of its size shaved away. The next thing you’ll notice both visually and tactilely is the build quality.
Built from anodized aluminum to be both light and tough the MIQRO feels like a quality unit in your hand. The hinged magnetic doors are a nice touch as the slap closed nice and tight but are still easy to open.
The MIQRO has two zirconium mouthpiece options, one is flat for complete discretion and the other is slightly extended so you can fit it in your mouth or attach it to a bubbler. Zirconium is a rare earth element which is a type of metal. Its properties are perfect for clean tasting vapor without adding any contaminants such as those found in plastic. Personally, I didn’t like the flat discreet mouthpiece but found the extended mouthpiece perfect.
The MIQRO’s smaller LED interface contains just 15 LEDs compared to the IQ which had 51. This reduction in LED’s does make it a little harder to read the temperature because it’s only displayed one digit at a time. But when it comes right down to it the interface tells you exactly what you need to know. You might even notice that when you power down the MICQO it flashes random happy words.
Heating and vapor quality
The MIQRO uses the conduction heating method where the cannabis is heated when it comes in contact with the ceramic chamber walls. In my opinion convection heating is a better option for vapor quality, flavor, and smell but the MIQRO surprised me because I found there to be plenty of flavor even when compared to my desktop Arizer Extreme Q vaporizer.
The MIQRO heats up relatively fast taking about 40 seconds to reach a medium vaping temperature. The heating mode and temperature can be set with one of the 3 buttons on the side of the unit. I like the fact that pressing the top button on the side of the unit turns the power up to full, so you can generate a nice cloud.
An innovation from the DaVinci IQ was the zirconium pearl found on the cover of the oven which is used to reflect heat back into the chamber as well as force the herb down into the chamber you’ll find that great little system is used on the MIQRO.
Using the MIQRO
Loading the MIQRO is very easy, just lift the magnetic oven cover on the bottom of the unit then drop in and pack down your favorite finely ground cannabis. A fine grind is key for performance in this vaporizer and so is packing the cannabis tightly against the ceramic conduction bowl. The surface of the filling area makes it easy to clean up any extra cannabis and push it into the bowl.
To get cooking with the Davinci MIQRO you have to press the control button 5 times which will power the unit up into Smart Path mode. The MIQRO has 3 modes Smart Paths, precise temperature control and a boost option to max out the heat available.
As far as temperature control systems go on vaporizers “Smart Paths” are the best in my opinion. With these options, the unit starts out at a specific temperature and then increases the temperature as the session continues to unlock the most possible THC from your cannabis.
Selecting a “Smart Path”, is as easy as pressing a button the up or down buttons on the side of the unit, there are four “Smart Paths” which range in temperatures between 350 ºF and 430 ºF.
The Smart paths are in our opinion the best temperature control system out there, the temperature will automatically raise during the session to squeeze the most out of our herbs.
Cleaning out the unit was easy, there is a handy stirring tool located under the mouthpiece area of the MIQRO which can be pulled out and used to loosen the used cannabis material that has been packed into the chamber. The pick tool just slides back into its compartment out of the way until you need it again.
That same tool is also great for stirring the chamber to make sure that you cook all of your loaded cannabis.
Control Freak?
Are you a control freak and need full control over the temperature of the MIQRO during your session? You can use “precision mode” by pressing the start button one more time. Once this mode is active just used the up and down arrow buttons to control the temperature. When the unit reaches the selected temperature, it will vibrate to let you know to start your session.
The next option is “boost mode”, by pressing and holding down the control button the temperature will reach maximum for your last few hits. I like to use “boost mode” throughout my session to help me pull bigger clouds on each toke.
DaVinci MIQRO Battery
The MIQRO comes with 2 interchangeable 18359 batteries with 900 mAh capacity each, that’s half the size used in the IQ. This tiny battery makes the size of the MIQRO possible, but it does come at a cost. The battery life of the MIQRO is very short. If you use the mid-range “short path” setting expect about 30 to 35 minutes of use on a 90-minute charge battery. Having a second battery included was a great idea but an external charger would have clinched it. If you use “boost mode” you’ll notice the battery drains in about 20 minutes.
The MIQRO kit comes standard with a micro-USB cable to charge the unit which charges in about 90 minutes and allows the unit to be used while charging which is a handy feature. I just leave the unit plugged in at home, so I never have any issues with battery life.
The unit comes with a second back up battery in a cool keychain which also has a compartment to hold additional ground bud.
You can check the battery power at any time by just pressing the up and down buttons at the same time.
Conclusion:
DaVinci has really done it again, they’ve created a premium quality micro portable vaporizer that will please most smokers. If you are looking for a discreet vaporizer, you’ll find none better then the MIQRO. The vapor production and flavor are the best you can get from a conduction vaporizer.
The only downside to this product is the short battery life. They helped that situation by providing a second battery, but an external charger would have been very helpful.
Would I buy a Davinci MIQRO? Yes, If I was looking for a discreet micro dosing vaporizer or not looking to hit a full chamber with every use the MIQRO would be my first choice.
Finally, something I truly appreciated is the Davinci 5-year warranty on the unit which means if you invest in this bad boy today you’ll be enjoying it for years to come.
